A tragic fire destroyed the old church and organ, sad as such occasions are they do present an opportunity for renewal. The new brick structure has a good acoustic and shows what can be achieved if the architect and the individual craft disciplines are in communication with each other at an early point in the planning. The case is of oak, a console is placed at floor level and the swell seemingly floats above it with the pipes of the Principal 8 above that. The tight specification fits neatly into the structure and provides a wide range of colour within the number of stops provided. |
